After a very busy spring and early summer, I have finally had time to go back and see clients and talk about how their planting is coming along and visit some gardens. Taking the time to really ‘look’ is so important. To intently focus for 10 – 20 minutes is a joy. To look in detail at colour form and textures. To see which plants have been invigorated by the cold winter weather and which have struggled or succumbed, and in a new garden to see how the plants are coming along in their first year. Personally, I love the ephemeral element of plants, catching them at the right moment when they are at their zenith in leaf or flower, and simply enjoying the show.
