As I write this paving, setts and sand are being craned over our front hedge, (much to the excitement of our dog) ready for construction. The designs have been done, specifications written and costs agreed. The die is cast.
My thoughts are turning to planting for the new areas, and as I visit plant nurseries for clients, I find myself eyeing up tempting shrubs. Never mind all the stunning plants at Chelsea to think about this week. But I will wait a little. I came across a really useful book for the garden at the V&A in London, The ‘Gardener’s One Line A Day’ jotting diary. There are 365 daily entries appearing 5 times on each page, so you can briefly record your garden thoughts, wish lists and notes good and bad on your garden over a 5 year period, I am looking forward to making my first entry.
